Chaos in Magnetic Resonance Experiments

چکیده
Non linear antiferromagnetic resonance was observed by parallel pumping (PP) with continuous waves in (NHsCH~)~ CuC14. This system is unique in its low threshold for PP and its strong anisotropy. The absorbed microwave power displays self spiking. As a function of power the irregularity of periods between the spikes changes. Reproducible transitions from nearly regular to irregular spiking are found (RI-transitions) with information dimensions DI in the range 2.5 5 & 5 5. For certain parameter settings a hierarchy of RI transitions with different amplitudes is observed. The measurements are compared to the results of the 2n-dimensional stroboscopic model (SM), which describes the dynamics of n non-linear coupled spin wave modes. The SM simulates the mentioned behaviour for n = 2 and for strong anisotropy. Certain measurements with large DI were more readily modeled by the three mode SM.

Realizing the quantum baker’s map on a 3-qubit NMR quantum computer
By numerically simulating an implementation of the quantum baker’s map on a 3-qubit NMR quantum computer based on the molecule trichloroethylene, we demonstrate the feasibility of quantum chaos experiments on present-day quantum computers. We give detailed descriptions of proposed experiments that investigate (a) the rate of entropy increase due to decoherence and (b) the phenomenon of hypersen...

متن کاملInvestigation of strong force influence on behavior of nuclear energy levels in Calcium and Titanium isotopes: Based on quantum chaos theory
The atomic nucleus is a complex many-body system that consists of two types of fermion (neutron and proton). They are in the strong interaction. The statistical properties of energy levels and influence of strong force between these fermions are well described by random matrix theory. Resonance of energy levels depends on the Hamiltonian symmetry placed in one of the GOE, GUE and GSE ensembles ...

Modern challenges of food science require a new understanding of the determinants of food quality and safety. Application of advanced imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has seen impressive successes and fast growth over the past decade. Since MRI does not have any harmful ionizing radiation, it can be considered as a magnificent tool for the quality control of food prod...
متن کاملDoes Exposure to Static Magnetic Fields Generated by Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanners Raise Safety Problems for Personnel?
MRI workers are occupationally exposed to static and time-varying gradient magnetic fields. While the 24-hour time-averaged exposure to static magnetic fields is about a few mT, the maximum static field strength can be as high as 500 mT during patient setup. Over the past several years, our laboratory has performed extensive experiments on the health effects of exposure of animal models and h...
